Carla Johnson

Carla Johnson is an author, educator and public speaker. Her mission is to reveal the extra ordinary in the ordinary. She vividly remembers a moment in her teens when her Mennonite grandmother caught her mom cooking with wine.

Grandma scolded, "Cooking with sin, are we?" That memory lingered with Carla and in 2009 she started a blog and set out to find other people who had recipes with alcohol and a story to go with it. People from all walks of life shared their personal stories and the recipes woven through them.

Carla's first print edition Cooking With Sin: Great Recipes Dipped in Alcohol and Wrapped in a Wonderful Story was launched in December 2010. It is a beautiful selection of recipes with wine, spirits, liqueurs and beer.

Looking to create a book that stood out above the crowd, Carla made sure each recipe was carefully tested and extensively photographed. When you pick up a copy of "Cooking With Sin" you will appreciate the specialness of each recipe and be touched by the stories. You will find the rich photography visually enticing and many people have told Carla they use it as a coffee table book. The stories are wonderful, the recipes are delicious and the *sin* factor sure makes it a lot of fun.

This is Carla's second book. She shares more on her personal site Carla continues to collect recipes with stories and welcomes more contributions to her blog
